I'm Off to the City of Bath...

I just have to pack my clothes and my medication for my travels.

My camera battery is charged, ready to take some interesting images- I hope! The weather is meant to be good so I'm dragging out some summer clothes...

I've been making a list with opening times and entry costs, and compared to some places they are not that expensive- especially when they offer saver tickets to get into a combination of museums.

If you want to read about some of the places I'll be visiting- while the rest of the family are left at home- you can find out more here at the Visit Bath website.

There are lots of pictures and videos, just look at the individual website links for each museum/place.

Once I'm back it will be a couple of days before I've got everything sorted, so I may not blog again until mid-week.

Enjoy your weekend, wherever you are...

Great weather for it, Carol. Stunning city. The past is very present. In the Circus and Royal Crescent especially, you hear carriages on cobbles and see gaiety and intrigue through the windows. Sorry we couldn't hook up. Enjoy.

Have a great time, Carol, but don't drink the water - it's vile!

Oh, lucky you, Carol! I've only been once, long ago, and really want to go back.

I like The Circus more than the Royal Crescent, but the view of the park is amazing from the upper windows of No.1 Royal Crescent, Ana.

I'm sorry you weren't able to join me and Liz, too. Hope we'll get another opportunity sometime. :)

Thanks, Lizy. I didn't try the water in The Pump Room. :)

I was staying in Henrietta Street, just off Laura Place and Great Pultney Street, so was crossing Pultney Bridge twice a day.

It was amazing staying in, and walking along streets full of tall elegant Georgian buildings each day, Rosemary. :)

Glad you enjoyed your trip. I'm looking forward to reading some more of these posts. My MIL lives in Tewkesbury so we've been down to Bath a few times from there. I have a thing for fashion and costume so the museum there is heaven! I was lucky enough to get in free one time as they were having a wedding dress exhibition and I had a commission to do an article for a sewing mag on it.

I really love all the Georgian buildings and, obviously the Austen link is a draw. It's a beautiful city. It'd be nice to spend a few days there all in one go, like you have.
